Dear George,

I'm sorry to hear this is troubling you. While I cannot give you legal advice on your situation, if you are concerned with a custody battle, I do suggest you speak with an experienced family lawyer wherever your children are domiciled. From your post it is unclear whether that is presently the US or Canada. Either way, family courts all apply some variation of the "best interests of the child" standard in custody cases. At this stage, the only courts with any significant jurisdictional nexus with your children are where they are domiciled.

You seem to be worrying about a possible future event. I hope the matter resolves itself without the need for courts and custody battles.

All the best,

: I am a Canadian citizen and so are my boys, ages 9 and 11, my wife, still has maintained her US citizenship, although she has lived most of her life in Canada. I currently am working for her parents company in the states while her father recouperates from health issues. I believe my wife is trying to get our boys into the states and then intending on divorcing me to send me back to canada without out our children. Where can I go to read or get advice on what to do with this situation?

: Thank you for you assistance
